Choosing To Get Sculptra: Who Is A Good Candidate?

Sculptra is designed for people who are interested in a long lasting correction to signs of facial aging. Sculptra provides a gradual and significant increase in skin thickness, and improves the appearance of folds, deep grooves, and sunken areas. Dr. Kara uses Sculptra treatment in order to:

• restore lost facial volume in the cheeks,
• improve marionette lines beside the mouth, and
• improve nasolabial folds.

Your Sculptra Treatment

Sculptra is injected under your skin. Dr. Kara may apply a topical anesthetic before injecting Sculptra. After Sculptra is injected, Dr. Kara will massage the material into place. You will also massage your face at home.

Sculptra is not a facial filler like JUVÉDERM in Toronto. This means you will not see the results of your Sculptra injections immediately. Sculptra is made of poly-L-lactic acid. Injecting poly-L-lactic acid stimulates collagen production, which improves signs of facial aging.

Patients typically see the results of Sculptra injections after three to six weeks. Full results will appear after a series of treatments. A typical treatment series may require three treatment sessions.

Results And Aftercare For Sculptra

Following your Sculptra injections, you should ice the area to prevent local swelling, bruising, and redness. You can return to your normal activities the same day. You need to massage your face for several days after you receive injections to help encourage even distribution of Sculptra. You should also avoid sunlight and use sun protection following Sculptra treatment.

Results from Sculptra injections last up to two years. These results appear gradually after treatment. This gradual improvement means that it won’t look as if you had work done. The increased collagen production improves signs of facial aging while keeping your look very natural.
