Choosing to Get JUVÉDERM: Who’s a Good Candidate?

Your JUVÉDERM Treatment

The procedure only takes about 45 minutes in an office setting, as the doctor will identify and mark areas for injection. If necessary, topical anaesthetic can be applied for your comfort. JUVÉDERM is injected into the skin using a small needle, and will quickly bind with water beneath the skin to fill out the injection site. JUVÉDERM contains a localized pain reliever so that patients will feel comfortable following the injection.

Results and Aftercare for JUVÉDERM

Possible side effects include redness, pain, and tenderness, as well as some swelling and bruising at the injection site, although these are temporary. As with all injections, there is a slight risk of infection.

You should avoid exposure to the sun, heat, and cold during the first 24 hours after the treatment, as well as abstain from alcohol and exercise. Avoid rubbing the injected area for at least 48 hours. By taking these steps, you will give the hyaluronic acid in the JUVÉDERM time to properly bind with the collagen and elastin fibres in your skin.
